7 Warning Signs of an Unhealthy Relationship

7565259_m

There are many different reasons people start relationships. Sometimes they’re lonely. Sometimes they see a chance for something better or they need someone to reassure them. Sometimes they want acceptance by another person.

Often, people stay in unhealthy relationships because they feel they really love the other person, and they hope things will change for the better. Some relationships change with a little work and counseling, but if your partner is unwilling to get outside help or wants you to keep the problems in your relationship a secret that may be a sign that he doesn’t really want to change. Remember, someone who really loves you will treat you with respect, kindness, and patience. He will be honest with you and value your thoughts and feelings. And, of course, he won’t be violent or force sex on you.

7 Warning Signs of an Unhealthy Relationship

  1. When there is a disagreement, you’re always wrong and he’s always right.
  2. You fear bringing up a subject that is important to you because he might get really angry.
  3. He uses alcohol or drugs a lot. After he has been drinking or using, he can’t remember what he said or did to you.
  4. He tries to control your access to money, who you spend time with, where (or whether) you work, how you dress, or how you act.
  5. You feel bad about yourself because he calls you names, makes fun of you, or views you as stupid, ignorant, or incompetent.
  6. He lies to you or cheats on you.
  7. He promises to change but doesn’t.

If you’re experiencing one or more of these signs of an unhealthy relationship, it may be time to stop and think. Is your relationship built on love or are you looking for acceptance, attention, or security? Is your relationship healthy, or just the best you think you can get?

Are you in an unhealthy relationship? LivingWell can provide resources to help you work through your relationship issues. Give us a call today – 530-272-6800.

Yes, ALL of our Services at LivingWell Medical Clinic are “FREE”

LivingWell Medical Clinic and Community

Many times when someone visits LivingWell, they are surprised to hear that all of our services are “free”. Well, actually they aren’t free, they cost quite a bit. But we are committed to providing them at no cost to our clients. Here are six reasons why LivingWell is able to do that.

People in our community care about you

At LivingWell Medical Clinic, we affectionately call those who support the services at LivingWell our “partners.” They truly are partnering with us to bring hope and encouragement to everyone who walks through our doors. We have thousands of partners from Nevada County, and beyond, who believe in you and provide funding for your services. When we’ve asked our financial partners why they give, we are repeatedly told that they give because they believe in the vision and the mission of LivingWell to inspire hope for those with unexpected pregnancies and sexual health decisions. This financial support underwrites our various programs and services such as pregnancy tests, STI testing, ultrasound exams, and community education.

We don’t depend on government funds

LivingWell Medical Clinic is 100% privately funded by our partners. Many of our partners have been with us since our inception in 1985 and many more join the team of LivingWell supporters annually. Because we do not rely on the federal or state government, our services will continue regardless of the finances of the country. Any grants we receive come from private family or business foundations and have funded our ultrasound system purchase and community education program.

We are part of a giving community

In addition to the financial support received, we have a group of partners who give material goods of baby blankets, diapers, and clothing items so that you have needed items during and after your pregnancy.

We have a volunteer team of over 500 individuals and businesses who donate time and materials for our various functions and needs. These volunteer hours make it possible for us to provide quality services at no cost to those who need them.

Our thrift store provides funding and materials

LivingWell Thrift Store provides further funding for the LivingWell Medical Clinic through the sale of generously donated items. Donated material goods at the thrift store are also made available to our clients through our voucher program. The vouchers allow families with children to receive clothing and other material needs free of charge. LivingWell is currently clothing over 1800 women and children throughout the Nevada County community. The main goal of the thrift store is to be able to provide for the true needs of our clients.

We have amazing partnerships with local businesses and churches

LivingWell Medical Clinic is able to offer our services free of cost because of all the Nevada County businesses and churches who donate thousands of dollars of funding and discounted services every year to our clinic. Currently we have 65 businesses and 33 churches in Nevada County that support LivingWell in one capacity or the other.

We have former clients who are now giving back

Although we don’t expect it, or ask for it, women and men who have needed our services in the past have returned to contribute to others. On many occasions we receive notes such as this, “I had some extra money and wanted to share it with you because of what you did for me when I needed it most. I want to help other girls who might be facing the same obstacles that I did three years ago.”

Yes, at LivingWell Medical Clinic our Services are “Free”, but you won’t believe it because of the service you’ll receive.

Yes, our services are “free”, but the atmosphere that greets you when you walk through our door is professional and filled with hope. If you ever need a pregnancy test, STI testing, or after abortion assistance, we’re here for you because of the generous support of our community.
