LIVINGWELL MEDICAL CLINIC
NURSING DIRECTOR – POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE
The title shall be Nursing Director (ND) for LivingWell Medical Clinic (LWMC).
REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY
The ND reports to the CEO. The ND will be evaluated by the CEO in both oral and written form on an annual basis.
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
The ND has responsibility for the medical services at LWMC which includes the implementation of the policies and procedures approved by the Medical Director and Board of Directors within the parameters of the approved budget. The primary areas of responsibility are patient care, personnel supervision and training, and administration. This is a permanent, full-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of human life
- A sincere desire to reach out with the love of Jesus to people in distress, and inspire hope for their future
- Faithful attendance in a local church
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle and Policies of LWMC
- Currently licensed by the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Credentialed to perform Limited Obstetrical Ultrasounds, or willing to be trained
- Able to perform blood draws for STI patients, or willing to be trained
- Have two years of experience as a volunteer or employee in ministry
- Knowledge of scripture especially pertaining to the sanctity of human life, forgiveness, and salvation
- Have two years of experience in an administrative/supervisory position with direct experience in supervising paid staff in an efficient and professional office
- Exhibit strong skills in interpersonal communication
- Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for volunteers
- Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PATIENT CARE
- Provide best practice in patient care per LWMC Policy and Procedure Manual, American Nurses Association, and California Department of Public Health Title 22 requirements
- Perform pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, and STI testing
- Willingness and ability to compassionately discuss pregnancy and sexual health issues and options
- Oversee the scheduling of patient care and appointments
- Work with clinic physicians and nurses to provide patient care as needed
- Assure that physicians are assisted with patient exams and care as needed
PERSONNEL SUPERVISION AND TRAINING
- Interview and onboard new physician and nurse volunteers
- Supervise and provide initial and on-going training for physicians and nurses
- Annually evaluate performance of physician and nurse volunteers using guidelines for Peer Reviews noted in the LWMC Policy and Procedure Manual
- Schedule physicians and nurses to staff the clinic
- Maintain and document volunteer physician and nurse personnel records, including annual required health exam, TB test, and required certification and licensing
ADMINISTRATION
- Assure the quality of
medical and allied health services provided to patients
- Oversee clinic safety and infection control: Quality Assurance, MSDS binder, emergency plans
- Perform or delegate chart reviews and audits
- Evaluate and maintain clinic equipment and supplies
- Review policies and procedures annually, and update when needed
- Assist in developing on-going short and long term goals and standards for the medical services of LivingWell Medical Clinic
- Attend Medical Committee meetings, monthly staff and volunteer meetings, annual in-service full day training, and one Board of Directors meeting
- Attend a national affiliate conference biennially
- Work with the CEO and Board of Directors developing annual Directional Statement and goals for LWMC
